Superb Solid Silver Edwardian Fob Whistle Birmingham 1902 Charles Edward Adams:
$64.72

This is a wonderful solid silver fob whistle made during the Edwardian period. It is smothered in foliate design, very much reflecting the Art Nouveau period during which it was made. It has a small suspension ring at the end so that it can be hung from a fob chain or chatelaine.Free from inscriptions, it is a true novelty.
Condition is excellent. There are no splits, dents or repairs, just the usual surface scratches commensurate with a piece of silver which is over 100 years old. The whistle still has its strong, high pitched sound and remains fully functional and ready to use. A wonderful antique which would grace any collection. My photographs confirm condition, however further images are available if required.
The hallmarks are rubbed but they show that the whistle was assayed in Birmingham and made by Charles Edward Adams. Established in 1900, he operated from premises in Icknield Street, Birmingham. I believe that the business ceased to trade in 1908 so this whistle would have been made during this eight year period.
The whistle is 3.5cm long and weighs 4g.
Many thanks for looking and good luck with your offerding. I will be listing more silver items from my private collection over the coming weeks and hopefully there will be something of interest for your.
Please note I am unable to accept offerding from customers in China.
