For sale we have this very rare antique Georgian Staffordshire hen on nest egg dish.

This superb piece dates to around 1820.

It is beautifully made with a hen covering her eggs on a nest made of stings of green glazed clay.

This is a very rare piece and we have been unable to find another for sale or recently stands 15cm/6\" tall and measures 17cm/ 6 3/4\" by 13cm/5\" at the base.
The overall condition of the piece is very good for its age.

There is a little ware to the glaze from use and a few small sections of the nest stringing missing which we have tried to show in the photos.

This piece comes from a private collection which we are selling for a client so we have many more pieces of Staffordshire coming up for sale.
