I\'m offering for your consideration a superb rainbow man pin attributed to the famous Zuni silversmith, Mary Kallestewa. This is an exceptional pin, evidencing much movement, with his curved body, swishing skirt and little dancing feet. The two pieces depicted in Mr. Sei\'s book,  \"Knifewing and Rainbow Man in Zuni Jewelry\" evidence the combined features of this pin, and the other possibility, an artist who also depicted this kind of movement in his pieces, is Teddi Weahkee. I\'ve also included an example of similar work by him above from the same book. I think it\'s much more likely to be a Mary Kallestewa piece based on my extensive handling of her work, but either way it\'s one of the all time great Zuni artists who understands elegance and restraint in startling ways. The inlay includes paper thin, fine inlay and some of the most beautiful stones, elegantly applied, so that the white flash in the spondylus is centered in the hat, creating an aura of light coming from his head. The many curved shapes are also difficult to cut and inlay perfectly. This artist succeeds in the most difficult of workmanship. This is a truly fine piece of work indeed.

Oddly this masterpiece of great Zuni artistry comes under attack by a hate group which has defamed me for years and in order to defame me, in order to attack me and the attribution I make, they call it a fake. There\'s nothing fake about this; the fakes are the defamers who provide nothing but their own opinions to counter mine: no shred of evidence. It\'s tragic that they would do harm to a great Zuni artist in order to try to harm me! This is one of the great historical works of art and every aspect of it is a match to one of the two pictures which one of them attributes to Mary Kallestewa in the pages of the book included above. Note that a huge percentage of this author\'s attributions are dead wrong and he never provides updated editions of his books to correct his numerous egregious errors; yet dares to accuse what he considers to be an incorrect attribution of being a fake! This is a truly great work of art by one of the truly great Zuni artists in all the history of Zuni art. Don\'t let bad people muddy the issue.

This fabulous rainbow man is 2-3/4\" tall and 1-1/4\" wide. He weighs 13.7 grams and is unsigned and not marked for silver content which is usual for this early period of time. He is in superb vintage, wearable and collectible condition and his locking clasp mechanism works fine. All the shells and turquoise were hand cut and buffed and set and selected for their outstanding quality and beauty; they were positioned with a great sense of aesthetics and beauty.

Remember that an attribution is never a certainty but I make this based on all the evidence and experience available to me at this time. I will always update it if more information comes in; that is actual information. This is one of the finest examples of Zuni artistry made at the most important time in history for great Zuni art. Mary Kallestewa was one of the all time great Zuni silversmiths who worked for CG Wallace and was represented in his personal collection in the Sotheby\'s sale catalog. Her pieces are highly priced and valuable. This pin can have a supreme place in your collection and will be gorgeous to wear. This is one of the museum quality pieces that you will never tire of owning. It\'s stunning!

Yes, I sometimes can take reasonable offers.

I generally ship same day. First item shipping in the US costs $7.99 Priority or $5.99 First Class or $25 Overnight. You may add an additional item for three days at no additional shipping charge. Three or more items are free shipping entirely if purchased in one shopping cart basket. Tracking is included in that cost, and Signature Confirmation is included on items $825 or more, total. Your invoice will allow you to choose the shipping method.

International buyers pay actual shipping cost and are responsible for any customs fees their own countries may apply. I generally use Express International, which is tracked and insured, but can always consider Priority Mail International if that is your preference. It\'s less expensive and is tracked, but usually cannot be insured. To the UK and Canada, even First Class International can be used because it can be tracked to those countries. We can discuss it prior to purchase. I am no longer shipping to Italy and China. You can talk to me about this, especially if you are a prior customer.

Returns will be accepted for 14 days after your receipt for any reason and without question. Please let me know if you would like to return something. Returns must be in the same condition they were shipped. If I make a significant mistake in a listing I\'ll always give you a full refund. The 15% restocking fee does not apply when the mistake is mine. I care that you\'re happy and about my accuracy, and will always stand behind my work.

When I include pages from published books in my listings it is in accordance with Fair Use Law, which permits the use of source material for discussion, reference, education and criticism.

Attributions on many of the old pieces of Native American jewelry are sometimes a moving target. All the books have errors, so in addition to counterchecking, I have developed some expertise over the years and I do care about getting it right, so as more information comes to light I update my listings and also get in touch with my previous buyers, to inform them of any changes in attributions. I am sincerely committed to ongoing accuracy.

I am sorry to say I can no longer recommend ATADA nor buying from their members with perhaps one exception, and retract my previous endorsement of the group.

I request payment by PayPal in three days, but planned in advance of purchase, alternate payment methods and time payments can be arranged.

Everything I sell comes from my personal collection or is something that I would include in my personal collection. Most pieces are museum worthy and gallery suitable, sold to you at great pricing. I vet every item carefully for quality and condition, and offer you the best. I want you to be able to rely on me for top quality, superb items that are often unique and rare examples of old antique vintage southwest, indian, native american and fine gold and gemstones, whether you\'re starting a collection or adding to one, or want something great to wear or gift. My goal is that all my buyers are delighted, that my special pieces find the right homes.
