This is a superb Antique Victorian circa 1890 Russian HM 14 carat gold malachite brooch. The brooch was purchased at a recent sale of antique jewellery and has old hallmarks which are difficult to read but it does have a clear 56 Zolotnic mark for 14 carat gold and the brooch is believed to be Russian and made late 19th century around 1890.
The malachite is in beautiful condition with only the very smallest edge flea bite out of the edge of the belt commensurate with age and only really visible with a loupe.
The brooch has a stunning 14 carat gold section on the front being the \'buckle\' to the malachite carved \'belt\'. The back is also 14 carat gold. The width is 3.7 cm and the pin and C clasp are in good working condition and original.
