Superb early 18th century French iron key with triangular stem & fine bow :

Really rare superb quality iron/steel French key about 5.5inches long. The key is likely from theearly 18th century and everything about it is good. The bow is of the “frogs-legs” form and stemhas fine turning before it transitions into a hollow triangular stem. The bit is flared and has cuts for wards thatare typical of 17th century and early 18th century. There is some minor surface rust but the keyis generally in excellent condition.This is a very rare and very good example of this type of key.
