WELCOME TOMY sales

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING BEFOREofferDING !

Thankyou for visiting my sale site. I hope you find something that you like.

All mypocket watches are generally in original condition, unless otherwise stated.

I willalways disclose in the description any faults which are clearly apparent. I tryto be as accurate as possible, and include clear photographs of each item.

Pleaseask questions if you require clarification on any part of the description.

IMPORTANT:

Antiqueand vintage watches are by their very nature second hand, and their history anduse an unknown quantity. They should be considered as in need of servicing, evenif they are listed as running, and unless otherwise stated they may need otheradjustments or maintenance.

Coverscan often be stiff to remove, and may require a sharp blade or watch-knife to open. This is normal, and not a fault. Expect a piece to exhibit exterior andsometimes interior wear and tear, commensurate with its age and use.

Pleasedo not expect an antique watch to run or operate consistently or reliably just likea modern timepiece.

Allwatches I sale are generally imperfect, and WILL require some degree ofmaintenance, further adjustment or some repairs, or maybe just a service to returnthem to running order, even if listed as working.

If they are listed as not working, any additionalcomments or suggestions I make are purely my opinion, and in no way aguarantee of any kind whatsoever.

If listed as in working order, this is no guarantee of futurereliability.Remember that you are buying an old second-hand watch.

Each item is therefore expressly sold ‘as is’.

This is a lovely late 18th or early 19thC French verge fusee pocket watch.

Signed Deslandes A FALAISE, which may be the maker or retailer.

Considering its\' age, it is in incredibly good original condition.

Very clean French verge movement, front winding, with square pillars and rare twin adjusting screws.

Beautifully carved two footed balance cock, and Tompion style regulator.

It is in great running order.

Runs consistently and keep good time too...quite astounding.

Beautifully signed dial, and glass bullseye crystal (slight edge fracture at 6.)

The hands are simply exquisite....and may have been individually and specially made.

The consular case is in excellent condition and fits together snugly.

It is French silver and has a makers\' initials impressed inside the cover, and a French provincial mark of a crab on the inner rim.

Case diameter is 48mm.

In my view....well over 200 years old and outstanding!

Supplied complete with it\'s key.

On 19-Feb-16 at 10:07:00 GMT, seller added the following information:

Note:
This type of French pocket watch is called a \'montre campagnard\', and it\'s style isindicative of the provincial French case makers.
The hands are called \'soleil\', because of their resemblance to the sun.
Thanks to all for your interest in this lovely piece!
