Presented is anextremely rare and finely carved Chinese ritual/ceremonial jade axe.
This archaic piece is in semi-translucent olive-green stone mottled by slightlyopaque banding and flecks.
The flaring blade-like body with a curved end andwith notches at the hilt and a small centre halfting hole which has been cutfrom both sides.

The main body of theblade has a subtly curved surface which is soft polished with minimal scratchesor scuffing.

This superb piece waspart of a private collector’s estate sale from a house in the country and hasno cracks, major scratches or repairs.

The overall length is29cm (11 ½ inch), width 8.5cm (3 ¼ inch) and the thickness is 5 to 6 mm
