Superb rare Antique Victorian 1890 silver Scottish agate citrine kilt pin brooch:

This is a superb quality, very rare and large antique sterling silver Victorian circa 1890 Scottish Cairngorm citrine kilt pin brooch. I have NEVER seen a piece like this where the craftsman has used just gemstones from the Cairngorm mountain range for all the stones. The result is a remarkably rare and beautiful kilt pin or large brooch.I have collected agates in Scotland for over 20 years and know where most of the lovely gemstones that Victorians used for their classic jewellery were found.
The stones are all quartz gemstones from the Cairngorm mountain range including champagne quartz and golden citrines. They have all been fully tested by a local jeweller to confirm they are genuine quartz stones.
The brooch has no hallmarks which is fairly normal for brooches of this period, but has been fully tested and is sterling silver.The length is huge at 9.9 cm ( Just under four inches ) and the pin and C clasp are in good working condition and original.
This is a fabulous large piece and would grace any kilt or Scottish attire!!
