Swedish Tomte with Embroidered Red Hat and Brown Beard / Tomte Nisse / Scandinavian Christmas Gnome, Collectible. CUSTOM REQUESTS available. Handmade by studioLISE.This Tomte is approximately 8\" high up to the top of the hat and approximately 1 3/4\" wide at the bottom. He is made out of wood and felt. I sign each tomte with my initials and the year. The hat has a little bell at the end. The star and edge of the hat are hand embroidered. The Tomte is hand made with love and care by me in my studio : )A Tomte is a mythical creature in Scandinavian folklore. He is often imagined as small (size varies from a few inches to about half the height of an adult man), often with a full beard, wearing gray and red woolens with a red cap. The Tomte come packaged in a nice gift bag with The Tomte Story included : )The Tomte is believed to take care of your home and children and protect them from misfortune, in particular at night, when the house folk are asleep.
