Here for your consideration is a Working Swirled Ecru & Gold Beetle Plascon Emerson 511 Tube Radio from 1946 in good working condition. What an excellent Moderne design! OH yes, this is called „MODERNE“ – designed by the famed designer Raymond Loewy. I call this Ivory with Gold Swirl, but my wife says Ecru and Gold, and you know she always wins. Besides, won’t let me use the word „Ivory“ in the title because they think I might be shooting elephants in my spare time in the New Hampshire woods....... Anyway, this 11“ x 8“ x 7 radio has a wonderful look to it, and is very difficult to find in nice condition. It has 2 small hairlines at the molded handle in the top, and another on the left front edge near the EMERSON logo. Far better than most of these, and the gold grill is a perfect original- most grills on these sets show rust, so this one was well taken care of!! I took it to my Tech friend Tom, and he replaced all 9 capacitors in it, and it plays loud and clear, picking up many stations across the dial. Speaking of dials, this is an unusual reverse plastic dial with the numbers formed into the back side of it. It glows nicely at night from the dial light hidden under the Ivory hood on top of the dial. Don’t miss this one as these are very hard to come by as nice as this. Good Luck, Radioorphanage
