Anton Reiche, Dresden, Germany. 1870-1960. U.S. agent T.C.Weygandt, 1885-1942. Anton Reiche’s molds are the most sought afterin the collecting world. Of the marks Reiche used, some were datedby placing one digit before the mark and another after; for example a“3” before his mark and a “0” after his mark meant the moldwas made in 1930. (Note: all Reiche molds exported to the U.S. wentthrough T.C. Weygandt and were marked by him as seen below. A moldmay not have Reiche’s mark, but if it has T.C. Weygandt’s mark itis an Anton Reiche mold, first sold in the U.S.)

Double Rabbit chocolate mold –Rabbits sitting in front of a basket. These molds have definitelybeen used at some point; Therewas still traces ofchocolate on them when I got them. Originallythey belongedto my parents in a non-smoking Environment and were used mostlyfor decoration. It is faintand partially obscured,but Anton Reiche\'s and T.C. Weygandt\'s marks are on the bottom nearthe hinge. Not sure of thedate, but there might be apartial 2 in front of the visible part of Reiche\'s name. Measuring from the outside,11 1/8 in long at the base, including hinges, and is about 2 ½ inwide. Tipsof the ears are about 6 in apart. Rabbits are around 2 in wide,about 5 ¼ in from the tailto the edge of the basket, and are about 7 in tall. Weight is about3.25 pounds. Ihave not used these molds myself.
