You are offerding on awonderful LARGE early Victorian coromandel veneered inlaid restored andrepolished jewellery box. Dates approximately 1840/1880.

FULLY LOCKS

No missing or replacedveneer.

Two very tiny inlay repairsand an old replacement mother of pearl escutcheon, otherwise all the inlay iscomplete and in great condition.

THIS IS A VERY RARE BOX. More than likely a commission piece at time ofmanufacturer as i have never seen one that displayed bird of paradise.

Inlayed with abalone shell,brass and mother of pearl.

A truly superb box in greatcondition.

Considering how old the boxis its in wonderful condition. Boxes of this calibre are not only becomingincreasingly rare, but this one is probably a one of a kind.

I’M PRETTY SURE THAT YOUWILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Box retains the original lock,top catch, and hinges.

Supplied with a silk tasseland Victorian key that FULLY LOCKS thebox. Instruction given once sold.

Comprising a wonderful interior that boasts a laterwooden tray finished to a superb standard that compliments. This has beenrelined in expensive plush velvet material of the highest quality, the same as the interior of the box.

All the added dividers withinthe tray can easily be repositioned or removed if desired. The tray can holdmany rings in an upright position.

Underneath the additionaltray and beneath the base of the box have also been lined in velvet to stop anyscratches to other surfaces.

A superb box, and would make a fantasticgift.
