FRESH TO THE MARKET, THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST 18TH CENTURY PENNSYLVANIA WROUGHT IRON AND WOOD LONG BLADE MEAT CLEAVERS .

A GREAT EARLY 18TH CENTURY WROUGHT IRON AND WOOD HANDLE LONG BLADE MEAT CLEAVER. IT HAS A SIGNED WROUGHT IRON BLADE AND ITS ORIGINAL WALNUT TURNED HANDLE. PENNSYLVANIA, CIRCA 1740-1760.

FANTASTIC ORIGINAL GRUNGY PATINA AND SURFACE.
A LARGE CLEAVER THAT IS IN NEARLY PERFECT CONDITION.

WE HAVE NOT SEEN A BETTER EXAMPLE IN OVER 20 YEARS.
THE BLADE HAS SOME OLD MARKINGS THAT WE CANNOT MAKE OUT, (see photos).
