MEASUREMENT: HEIGHT 6 1/2\" BACKGROUND: MARIE NICHOLL DESIGNED BOATMAN FIGURINE FOR ROYAL DOULTON AND IT WAS INTRODUCED IN 1971 AND RETIRED IN 1987. SEATED ON A GREY BRICK WALL AND DRESSED IN A YELLOW RAINCOAT AND HAT AND SMOKING HIS PIPE, THE BOATMAN IS PAINTING THE NAME OF HIS SHIP ON SOME NEW LIFE PRESERVERS.
