Welcome to the sale of a absolutely guaranteed original rolled mint condition 23 by 35 inch 1987 movie poster of The Disney animation classic The Little Mermaid . It is the o.s.p. , a poster publisher now defunct that was based in Los Angeles licensed commercial print of the theatrical movie poster from 1987 . This poster, same as the movie poster one sheet art was highly controversial at the time for a unusually designed castle in the background, which was later changed on all merchandise - beach towels ,posters , video boxes etc. The story/rumor going around back then was a employee/ designer/illustrator who did this as a joke that he assumed it would be caught but when it didn\'t just let it go and later got fired after the controversy hit, I have no idea if there is any truth to this, in any case it is the second most controversial Disney animation poster ever printed. The first being the unlicensed black light poster of all the Disney characters doing very unauthorized things that was printed and distributed in the early 1970s thru comic book stores and the like and quickly stopped by Disney. A very beautiful poster just the same and quite hard to find now.
