The Prague Haggadah of Passover is a facsimile edition of the oldest illustrated Passover Haggadah by Gershom Cohen and published by Ravin Printing Enterprises Ltd. This hardcover book is encased in cardboard and includes an introduction pamphlet by Joseph Tabory. Great for anyone studying 16th century Judaism or Jewish history or any collectors of Judaica.

A facsimile edition of the oldest illustrated Passover Haggadah, produced in Prague by the Hebrew printer Gershom Cohen, together with his brother Gronem, on the last day of the year 1526.

The Prague Haggadah, the earliest printed Haggadah to have remained in its entirety, is a masterpiece of beauty and spirit.

The earliest printed Haggadah, decorated with sixty woodcut engravings, it is unique in its special features of typography and text, illustrations and embellishments.

All the original pages of the Gershom Cohen\'s Prague Haggadah, are presented in full, to bring aesthetic and spiritual enrichment to the Seder table.

This is a superb Haggadah. Like all Judaic books printed in Europe, the language is Hebrew with either Hebrew or Yiddish commentary. In this case, I believe it is Hebrew commentary along side the text of the Haggadah.

Each chapter is embellished with either a graphic or larger words in gilt letters, and occasionally there is an adorned chapter page. I have included a few examples from within. These are actual pictures of pages so if the text looks a bit wavy, that is because they are not professional stock images but the actual pages from the book!

FYI - If some of the text lettering also shows up light like the gilt, that is due to an agressive flash attachment on my camera, but you get the idea.

Along with the Haggadah, is a supplemental brochure, the same size as the book, (shown left) detailing the contents. The cover page states the above info as well as the following \"The decorated letters, the many woodcuts, the superb borders, make this book one of the finest productions of the 16th century printing. Inside the supplement are six sections: The Passover Haggadah, The Artistic Tradition, The Prague Haggadah, The Text, The Illustrations and Notes.

It is far less expensive than Priority Mail, but - it ..... is ........... slooowwwww!!!! Despite USPS claims of 3-9 day delivery times, MEDIA MAIL CAN actually TAKE UP TO 3 WEEKS to arrive, and their tracking info is frequently not updated until it actually arrives, making that feature pretty useless! PLEASE remember this when you leave response scores as the choice is yours and not my fault if it takes a long time to get there! If you want it in a week or less, you are going to have to bite the bullet and pay for Priority Mail which will get it there in 2-3 working days, 99% of the time, but it is more expensive. Basically, the choice is yours, but if you choose media mail, please don\'t write to me in 5 days asking where your package is, because the post office will have it and most of the time, they don\'t have a clue!
