This is a history of Britain\'s Spencer family written by Charles Spencer, brother of the late Princess Diana. Spencer has signed the book on the title page. Included with the book is a 31/7/2003 20-pound-sterling receipt for it from the Althorp Shop. The Althorp shop is the souvenir shop in Althorp House which is the home/castle of the Spencer family. Charles Spencer, now the ninth Earl Spencer,is often at home and signs his books purchased there. We can assume that is what happened with this book.
The author recounts many centuries of the Spencer family. But although Diana Spencer was the most prominent recent member, she does not figure in the history. In fact. I didn\'t even find her name in the index. But her photo is among four that feature on the front off the dust jacket. And there are two gloss black and white photos of Charles Spencer and Diana Spencer as children with other family members.
The book and dust jacket are both in excellent condition with little wear.
