TRAVELLING BRASS CASE VICTORIAN PEN WIPE BRUSH INKWELL DIP PEN WAFER CANDLE BOX :

This is for alovely example of anold Victorian compact travellingwriters box circa 1880. The brass box is covered in brown leather embossed \'Ink\' with a button at the front that releases the lid. Insidethe brass is nicely engraved and hasan inkwell, candle holder, pen wipe, dip penand wafer/nib storage compartment. The glass bottle inkwell hasits own lever thatreleases the lid andunder the lid is the leather sprung stopper that seals the bottle. The box has a red hard brush wipe for pens and its brass dip pen that sits at the front in the slope made for it.The brass candle holder is hinged and pulls forward to stand upright. Theglass inkwellis removable and the metal is marked with a double headed eagle and the letters K.K.A. Priv which i believe is Austrian. It is all in excellent condition, especially inside, all the levers are working, all the engraving is sharp and clear, the glass bottle is totally intact and there are no old stains and no rust or oxidisationanywhere. The leather on the outside has a littlewear from use, butnothing to detract from the look of it in any way,and the dip pen has a fewlittle dinks from use and the inner tube that holds the nib is loose, it still grips the nib perfectly and functions perfectly though....overall it has survived really well and displaysbeautifully. The base measures 110mm (4.25\")by 65mm (2.5\") and it stands 40mm (1.5\") high.Please check out all the other desktop inkwells and other vintage gentlemans & ladies accessories we are selling on this week.
