This item comes from a private collector. I was told it was purchased in Turkey long ago, but I do not know its exact age.
This bowl is also referred as \"dervish begging bowl or kashkul\" on some listings I have seen.
This bowl is made of brass, and it has a hanging chain. The craftsmanship is amazing and stunning.
This is a \"wow\" piece, rare, meaningful, and very collectible.
This item may show minor scratches, dings/dents, oxidation/discoloration, and other imperfections related to its age and use.
It is in great vintage/pre-owned condition.The bowl has Islamic/Arabic/Ottoman Turkish? script on both sides, but I do not know the contents.
The bowl also has traditional Turkish/Ottoman designs etched.
The bowl has a gold/brass color chain, and I do not know if the chain is actually brass.
The chain is NOT permanently attached to the bowl, so it could easily be taken off if desired.
Inside of the bowl has been permanently glazed with silver color, and shows some oxidation/discoloration.
The bowl has two handles? on the sides that looks like a serpent or some kind of an animal.
This bowl is not marked/signed.
Size of the bowl: with the handles about 11 inches long across from top (without the handles about 8 and 1/4 inches long); about 4 and 3/4 inches wide at its widest point from top; and about 4 inches high from the side up to the handle top (about 2 inches high in the middle).
The chain is about 16 inches long.Please check the pictures for more details. You will receive what you see in the pictures.
I do not clean vintage/pre-owned items and leave that to its new owner. This bowl is already very clean.This is a rare and stunning item. A true conversation piece.
