What we have here is a Fantastic Carved Makonde Ebony Wood Shetani Figure from Tanzania Africa... nice size at 14 1/2 inches tall and weighing a substantial 1.75 pounds. Just look at the strong surreal forms carved into the gorgeous ebony wood, flowing and morphing head and body... a very striking piece with wonderful presence... displays well. An otherworldly unusual piece, bold and dramatic. General wear dings scratches and age cracks etc are common to traditional wooden arts and are often true to the time of creation... see photos for over all condition.
