A silver dish made by Hopeatehdas O/Y in Helsinki Finland. The design is by Tapio Wirkkala and the dish in in perfect condition. I have not managed to photograph the silver marks very well so have made a drawing of them and also added some borrowed photos to illustrate the maker\'s marks.The marks are:

HO/Y for Hopeatehdas OY
the crown in a heart which is the national mark for Finnish silver
813H which is the stamp for silver
a boat which is the mark for Helsinki
T6 which is the mark for the year 1948

This dish is the prototype to later versions produced which were not as elaborate. This bowl is hammered, it is not pressed silver like the later dishes in this style. It sits on 2 ball feet and has a lovely organic shape. It\'s approx 13 x 10 cm in size.We believe this is a prototype since it was made in 1948 and the simpler versions of this design were made later.Hopeatehdas OY also made the pressed silver bowls but again, production only took off a few years later.This object is a must have for any serious Wirkkala collector.The last photo is the stamp used on later dishes, these are the simplified version though in pressed silver sheet.We offer worldwide free insured shipping on this item.Please feel free to ask any questions.
