ThisConfederate solid shot 12 pounder Texas cannonball was found on the Palmetto Ranchbattlefield near Brownsville, Texas in the late 1890\'s.

Thiswas the last battle of the Civil War & the last Confederatevictory on May 12 & 13,1865.

This unfired Texas 12 pounmder was found at the sight of Jones\' Texas Battery near Palmetto Hill &is in fair to good conditionwith light to light/medium pitting & has a dark brown patina.

It had been on display in the Brownsville, Texas United Confederate Veterans Museum from the late 1890’suntil 1929. Itcomes with a very detailed family letter from the last curator that took theunclaimed artifacts home with him when the museum closed down in 1929.
