This is a fine original painting from 1990 by Hugo-award winning artist Jim Burns, the first of a handful of works he created for \"Navigators of the Empyrean,\" a personal planned book project described in his artbook \"Transluminal\" (1999) - where this painting also is featured. For years, Jim referred to this uniquely imaginative painting as \"Space Cod\", no doubt because the central figure is a fish-like creature (but like none other). This is a major work in Acrylic, 18\" X 26\" signed and comes custom framed. The photo doesn\'t do justice to the unusual blues and greens in this piece, or the way the organic shapes meld to produce an almost sensual visual effect. Paintings of this quality by this artist rarely come on the market these days - they are in private hands - and not at this low price - so if you want a bargain on this great piece you\'ll have to act this week...
