Original leather bindings, with red and black title labels, spine edge cracking, covers are delicate and need to be handled with care, should be okay if handled correctly.

The text is complete, tidy internally, mostly light toning and marking, some browning to the title pages and last sheet in each volume.

A history of the Greek empire, including Alexander from 60 to 248 in volume 2, the preceeding 80 pages on Philip, also includes, the government of Sparta, the government of Athens, history of the Greek republic from the time of Solon to the Persian wars, from the expulsion of Hippias to the death of Darius, from the death of Miltiades to the retreat of Xerxes, the peace between the Greeks and Persians, Peloponnesian war.
