You\'re offerding on \"The Life Of Abraham Lincoln\", by J.G. Holland, published 1866 by Gurdon Hill, Springfield, Mass. One of a spate of memorial biographies to come out in the wake of the assassination of Lincoln, this is a very nice example - fine leather boards and spine with ornate stamped design, gilded spine text and decorated page edges - some fade to the leather on the spine and a small chip at top front side corner of the spine, but overall very clean and appealing externally, and solid binding. Varying degrees of occasional foxing and age toning to the pages, but predominantly clean. Four nice steel engraved illustration plates, including frontispiece portrait of Lincoln. Note some old bookplates within the front endpapers.
