This book is in poor condition. Red boards with gilt signature design on front and gilt titles on spine. Front has extensive fading and some marks, scratches and stains. There is wear to the edges and wear and bumping to the corners. Spine is very faded and an orangy red in colour. Titles are faint. There is wear, bumping and small tears at both ends. Rear has some fading. There are some marks and stains and there is wear and a noticeable bump to the edges and wear and bumping to the corners.

Plain front and rear end pages. Front and rear have small pencil marks and are browning due to age. Early pages have some spotting. Illustrated frontispiece is present and in good condition protected by original tissue. All 408 pages, illustrations and maps appear present, attached and in reasonable condition. There is slight browning of pages with age. Pages have some creasing and marks. Top outer edge is dusty, other edges have some spotting and dents.
