About Shipping & Handling and the ABUSIVE NEGATIVE response WE HAVE RECEIVED.
Update November 16, 2016: We received 2 unfair negative responses from people who claimed our S&H cost were too high and/or refused our assistance. Therefore, we feel the need to explain.
Please take the few moments needed to read this.
1. S&H cost are NOT just the cost of postage. A seller cannot just slap a stamp on an item and have the post office deliver it. Shipping also includes the HANDLING, which involves boxes, tape and packaging materials, printing the shipping label, printing the packing slip, transporting the item to the Post Office, plus a portion of the fees and PayPal transaction fees.
2. Everyone always has the ability to see what the S&H cost will be, simply go to the line below the box in the middle of the screen that says \"Shipping:\" and click on the \"See details\" link. That will display a page titled \"Shipping and handling\" (in bold upper left). Put in the Zip Code of the address you want the item shipped to, then click on the link that says \"Get Rates\". If is working correctly, which most of the time it is, it will update the page to show you the shipping and handling rates.
3. If you believe the calculated S&H cost or fixed S&H cost to this item is too much then you may want to reconsider if you really want to offer on or buy this item. It is YOUR CHOICE and all the information on the cost is readily available to you BEFORE YOU offer. (Other sellers may offer Free or reduced S&H, and make up for it by inflating the price of their items. Some may even do the reverse. We do our best to accurately calculate the true S&H cost on all items we sell.)
4. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS about the item, cost, starting offer, buy it now price, S&H fee or anything else PLEASE ASK YOUR QUESTION(s) BEFORE YOU offer or BUY.
About the negative responses:
The first person to leave us a negative response NEVER CONTACTED US either before or after the purchase. He/She simply posted a rude negative comment after receiving the item which we upgraded from Economy Shipping to Priority Shipping at no extra cost to him/her. ALL our prior responses have been 100% POSITIVE until that one. Please do not be concerned by that completely uncalled for and totally rude comment.
The second negative response was kind of shady. We packed his item very carefully in the very best and safest way we could. There is only so much you can do with glass items, but he says it arrived broken. The one picture he submitted to us as proof did NOT show any damage whatsoever. We made sure to remind the individual that we sent his item to him UPGRADED at our expense via USPS Priority Mail, which is INSURED up to fifty dollars ($50.00) which was more than enough to provide him a FULL REFUND for his purchase and the shipping he paid. He REFUSED at least twice to submit a claim to the USPS, even after we supplied a link to a site explaining how easy it is to submit a USPS claim online. He instead demanded that we pay him a partial refund out of our pocket for the claimed damages. WE ALREADY PAID FOR THE INSURANCE. He could possibly get a FULL REFUND from the USPS rather than the partial refund he was demanding from us.
We have to ask ourselves: \"Why would someone demand a partial refund from us when he could get a FULL REFUND from the USPS?\" That makes no sense to us.
Anyway, he chose to post a negative response on us instead. It makes us look bad. Maybe it satisfies some need of his to be vengeful, but there\'s not much we can do about it, except report him to and PayPal (PayPal because he apparently is a PayPal employee and was an employee before the two companies split.)
We know these two incidents make us look bad, but honestly, we are just trying to do the best we can for our customers. We hope you understand that.
