Thomas A Dorgan TAD Original ART for INDOOR SPORTS 1922 Thomas A. Dorgan (TAD), INDOOR SPORTS, 10/7/1922(?). This is the original final drawing by the great newspaper artist Thomas A. Dorgan (TAD) for the daily comic strip that was published in newspapers on October 7, likely in 1922. Dorgan created Judge Rummy and Indoor Sports for the Hearst newspapers in the early years of the 20th century and continued them into the 1920s. Indoor Sports displayed the creator\'s humorous take on various goings on and situations about town and in society. This humorous episode is titled \"Watching the waiters as they milk the proud papa of small change while listening to his tales.\'\" The art is signed \"TAD\" by the artist at lower right. Int\'l Feature Service, Inc. copyright label is at the bottom. Dorgan was also a prominent sports cartoonist for Hearst; he died in 1929. Drawn in india ink on heavyweight paper, the art measures 8.5\" x 12.5\" on an 9.25\" x 13.25\" sheet. There is mild darkening of the paper from age; small corner creasing and light wear in margins only; there is some scratching out at lower right: FINE+ condition.
