Tangled

Tangledis a re-telling of the traditional fairy tale Rapunzel and joins other great titles as the 50th addition in the Walt Disney animated classic film series. It is with great pride then, that we at the Thomas Kinkade Studio have worked to fully realize the film\'s message of following your dream.Tangledreflects a master work of light and romance. This panoramic portrayal captures the newfound love of Rapunzel and Flynn as they boat together on her 18th birthday. Many of the film\'s unforgettable characters, including Maximus, Pascal and Mother Gothel, are seen on the lake shore. A thousand floating lanterns glow against the starlight of the night sky. Even the smallest light can fill a darkened room and love can indeed conquer all.

Beauty and the Beast Falling in Love

Of all the Disney love stories, perhaps Beauty and the Beast is the most poignant. Beast’s true identity is a charming prince who is discovering love in the form of the beautiful Belle. In my painting I memorialize that magic moment when they first begin to discover their love for each other. Many of the characters from the movie are present, including Belle’s eccentric father Maurice, the wonderful characters of Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and of course, Lumiere. In the distance, we see the village that is a central setting for many of the film’s most important moments. As with every piece in myDisney Dreams Collection, I attempted to portray a panorama of the entire movie, rather than an individual scene. My desire is that the viewer’s eye would wander around the painting making discoveries in every corner of the image.Beauty and the Beast Falling in Loverepresents, in my mind, my highest accomplishment so far in theDisney Dreams Collection.

The Little Mermaid

2014 marks the 100 Year Anniversary of one of the great American ballparks, Wrigley Field™. From the ivy-covered brick outfield walls to the hand-turned scoreboard to the main entry marquee, Wrigley Field™ – home of the Chicago Cubs™ – has fielded memories and dreams for generations of baseball lovers. Fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, have cheered from its stands and neighboring rooftop bleachers, singing “Take Me Out to the Ball Game™” with Harry Caray.  In the Thomas Kinkade Studios painting,Wrigley Field™:Memories and Dreams, we celebrate this great ballpark and the great traditions of yesterday; traditions that are our very roots, and which remind us of all that is great about our lives. It’s those memories that enable us to dare to dream, and risk new and better tomorrows.  Baseball is a part of our past reminding us of all that was once good and could be again.

Cinderella Wishes Upon A Dream

Cinderella Wishes Upon A Dream, fourth piece in my popular Disney Dreams Collection, has given me the chance to push the limits of my ability farther than I ever have. Hundreds of hours of detailing were required to capture a setting magical enough for a princess and her charming prince. On the towering mountain in the distance we see Cinderella’s castle, a vision inspired by the movie. Coming down from the castle road we see Cinderella’s horseman and coach, galloping towards the sleeping village below.

Snow White Discovers the Cottage

As a child my imagination was stirred by the great animated films of Walt Disney. Imagine my delight when Disney recently opened their archives to me as I prepared for my first-ever series of images inspired by classic Disney moments. In the first piece of this series, Snow White’s world is alive with color. The Prince’s castle where Snow White will eventually discover happiness looms majestically in the distance, while a foaming waterfall and fanciful animals remind us that Snow White is at peace with all of nature. Of course, I also included my iconic colorful flowers which festoon the scene with hopeful reminders of spring.

Sleeping Beauty

Sleeping Beautyis my eighth creation in theDisney Dreams Collection, and is the most lavishly detailed of the series that I have painted to date. My painting is filled with the enchantment of the original story. From the woodcutter’s cottage where Briar Rose was hidden by the three good fairies to the magnificent castle where Princess Aurora would awaken to love’s first kiss. Then in the distance we see the climatic fight between the good Prince Phillip and the evil Maleficent in dragon form; I’ve interpreted the entire story in a narrative panorama for all to enjoy. Of course central to the painting, and as testament to the strength of true love, we see the prince and his awakened beauty in each other’s arms as friends great and small gather in celebration of their undying devotion. Whether you are a fan ofSleeping Beautyor simply an unabashed romantic who believes love conquers all, enjoy this painting as my gift to you!

Aladdin

Who am I? And with whom will I share a lifetime of love? These are two of the great themes of each of our lives; questions we seek to answer in our own life’s journey. In Disney’s magical animated classic,Aladdin, based on the folktale “Aladdin, or the Wonderful Lamp” from the collection “One Thousand and One Nights”, both Aladdin and Jasmine seek answers to these two great questions. The peasant boy Aladdin pretends to be a prince to win the hand of his beloved Jasmine, and Princess Jasmine pretends to be a peasant to break the confines of her palace home. As they soar above Agrabah and the surrounding kingdom on a magic carpet ride, they discover a “whole new world” of adventure and love, and the realization that we only need “to be ourselves”, not someone else, to find “true love” and that wondrous place for you and me. The Princess and the Frog

Walt Disney said it all began with a mouse, and in the newest Disney movie classic you might say it all begins with a frog.The Princess and the Froghas been brought to life with hand-drawn animation techniques, making it the first Disney traditional animation classic in years as well as the first ever to be set in the enchanted city of New Orleans. In my painting I wanted to suggest the look of traditional animation yet maintain the sense of painterly mood that my work is known for. I lavished detail into the bayou flowers glowing with hidden fireflies, as well as the curving live oak draped with lacey Spanish moss. The characters of the movie swirl about the composition, inviting us to ponder the part each plays in the story.

Tinker Bell and Peter Pan Fly to Neverland

As with the first two paintings in my twelve pieceDisney Dreams Collection(affectionately referred to as the “Disney dozen” by die hard collectors!), I try to tell the whole story in a single image – what I refer to as a “narrative panorama”. We see Neverland in the distance, just below the “second star to the right”, as the full moon bathes the scene with its silvery glow. The lights of London twinkle along the river Thames, as the clouds take shape, if only in our imagination, as characters from the adventure – Captain Hook, Smee, the Lost Boys and the ubiquitous ticking crocodile. But for me, the central character of the story will always remain Tinker Bell, the enchanted fairy princess who makes the entire journey of imagination possible.
