All ready for summer???
Ah well, maybe not in the UK, but during the cold weather you can take a little time to repair these very pretty camisoles all dating to the last decade of the 19th Century or thereabouts.
I will start with the best, embroidered with a very fine small monogram, and beautiful quality embroidery with bows. This has some tiny antique darns, but one can see some other tiny areas of wear coming through as well. The main issue is the braid and lace trim to the neck, which is largely coming away - you may wish to replace this completely. Obviously once a fine quality item. Waist fixed at 26-7". MOPbuttons to fasten. Chest roomy at 38-9".
Second we have a profusely embroidered front cami, with a small area of embroidery to the back as well. Butterfly motif at centre front! Scalloped edges, hidden linen buttons. The ribbon drawstring neck and the tie back to front waist makes it easy to fit a good range of sizes. Sadly already quite a large repair to each side armhole, thenanother patch at one sideseam under armwith further splitting under the same arm. Make that patch bigger to hide. Silk ribbon holding well but slightly stained. Tiny rust spots to side. Worst condition but still possible to save it!
Last, a more standard cami with deep bands of machine cutwork. Linen hidden buttons, corded tie waist with peplum below. All good, the only thing is that the narrow silk ribbon that pulls the neck in needs to be replaced. Waist 24" or less.
Maybe they will bring the sun out!
Please do take a look in my shop if you have the time!
