Offering a 3-piece Tiffany sterling Tea Set consisting of atea pot, sugar bowl, and creamer. Allpieces made from heavy gauge sterling and hallmarked with Tiffany’s marksindicating a probable range of 1901-1903 for manufacture.

The teapot is marked with a “T” indicating the piece wasmade during the Tiffany & Co. directorship was in the hands of Charles L.Tiffany 1892-1902). The inside is very clean and free of staining. It weighs 23.3 oz Troy.

The sugar bowl and creamer are both marked with a “C”indicating the pieces were made during the Tiffany & Co. directorship ofCharles T. Cook (1902-1907). The sugarand creamer weigh 6.6 oz and 4.3 oz Troy,respectively. Both are heavily gold washed/plated on the inside surfaces.

It’s an original set to a single NYC family that wasapparently acquired about the time Mr. Tiffany turned the directorship ofTiffany’s to Mr. Cook. It was notunusual for families of that period (c.1902) to make additions to expensivesterling services over a period of some years at holidays, anniversaries, andbirthdays. The elegantly engravedinitials are “AD” and the family name is known to be NYC residents for anumber of years before relocating to Lake George inupstate New York. This set stayed in the same family for nearly100-years.

The set is in outstanding estate condition, no dents, ordamage whatsoever. It was clearly verywell cared-for. I’ve included a coupleof pictures for context showing NYC as it was when this set was made…horses andbuggies still abundant on the streets and no cars.
