We are pleased to offer this c1870 Tiffany sterling Greek Revival compote.

Identical to the c1873 compote in the New York State Museum in Albany, and illustrated in Carpenter page 67 (See Below).

Raised circular. Boldly cast shell crown classical maiden mask, ribbon hair and beaded necklace. In rolling vine and wheat frame. United by scrolling leaf and flower head in interwoven vine panel.

Anthemion and vine decorated twin coll circular handles. Set in acanthus and urn vine tail frame.

Original gold interior.

Never monogrammed.

This c1870 Tiffany sterling Greek Revival compote is 13 inches across and 5 tall and 41 standard ounces.

Hallmarked as shown.

Excellent condition. Rich, lustreous sterling patina throughout. Appears little used. Stands firm on table. The Greek Revival decoration retains original vibrant detail. Original gold interior also in superb state.
