The motifs chosen are theSeasons symbolized by the Serpent, the Frog, the Bird, and the rain and storm.The connected circles represent the Flight of Time,” was the description usedin the 1915 price catalog which can be found in Tiffany Desk Set Pieces byWilliam Holland (pg. 131).
This box isfinished with beautiful examples of the American Indian patterning includingthe Flight of Time circles, symmetrical motifs, and animal head focal point allatop a dignified gold ground. The hinged lid moves gracefully and the box isproperly stamped “TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 1192”.
