For yourconsideration, a Tiffany Studios New York picture frame in the Pine Needlepattern. Pine Needle is not only desirable, with regard to completingcollections, but also a favorite of collectors since its conception in theearly 20th century. As was written in the original price list, circa1915, and shown in Tiffany Desk Set Pieces by William Holland (pg. 105), “Theindividual beauty of this set consists in a metal overlay representing pineboughs or grape vines combined with Favrile glass.”

This frameis backed with a green striated glass that was the favored color for the pattern.Even when unlit, it complements the autumnal burnished patina of the bronzePine Needle overlay; adding visual interest with its variations of mossy tones.When illuminated, the glass provides a stunning yet gentle backdrop in hues of kellygreen, chartreuse, and hints of ocher. To finish the frame there is exceptionalbeading along all outside edges and the edges framing the photograph itself.The easel hardware is sturdy, allowing the frame to rest flush on its base. Theframe is properly stamped “TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK”.

CONDITION:Very good to excellent – Beading appears to have been professionally reinforcedat some point. Measures 7 ¼” by 9 ¼” to outer edges, 3 ¼” by 4 ¾” to photographedges.
