Scarce Original Revolutionary War Period Powder Horn, Very Small Priming Size

DESCRIPTION: Original Revolutionary War Period powder horn. Particularly tiny example of the small priming horn used with flintlock muskets. Much rarer than the larger horns. This one is about 5\" long. Wood plug nicely made and hand carved and held in by 9 hand-made iron nails.

Pouring end of the horn is hand whittled and very smooth.

In excellent condition overall, especially considering its age. Nice horn coloration and nice patina. You just don\'t see priming horns come up very often, especially in this condition. This one also has a particularly unusual and pleasing shape/curve to it and a nice look. It is another from my personal collection that I have had for many years. Came out of an old New England estate.

Wood plug is oval, about 1 1/2\" across.
