We are offering for sale a fabulous Victorian silver doubleinkstand.

This fine quality inkstand has two cut-glassinkwells for a choice of ink colours, each well isset within a removable square compartment.

The inkstand has a gadroon border in Regency style, 4 scroll bracket feet and two pen troughs, it also hasthe unusual feature of a handle to both ends.

As with all authentic inkstands, every piece of silver bears an appropriate matching hallmark - all component pieces are original to the inkstand.

MEASUREMENTS: 9cmhigh; 29.4cm long x 16.5cm wide; 467grams (15 tr.oz.) weighable silver, plus bottles.

MARKS: Full set of English hallmarks (guaranteeing Sterling 925 standard silver) for London 1896, made by Thomas Bradbury. The square compartments, rims and covers of the inkwells all bear the same appropriate matching hallmarks to the base.

(n.b. many antique inkstands are found withplain glass and unmarked lids - theseshould be considered later replacements)

CONDITION: Excellent polished condition throughout. The glass has a couple of very tiny chips to the cutting, but these can be felt (if vigilantly searched for!)rather than seen.
