Stunning and hard to find 18\" x 14\" (and a pinch), oval platter in the green Patrician Torbay pattern by Wedgwood. Renaissance-style with an embossed border in cream, accented by a green, laurel border and trim. In the center of the platter there is a romantic, neo-classical transfer motif featuring a boating scene. The platter is in wonderful condition for its age. The platter appears to have had minimal use. With angled light, I am able to see what looks to be perhaps light, utensil marks or marks from the manufacturing process in the center of the plate. The laurel and green edging are in remarkable shape with minimal wear to the green edge. There are two \"flea bites\" on the underside of the platter (see pictures enlarged) but these do not effect the overall integrity. Upon visual inspection there is no cracking or crazing to this piece. The underside is marked AM7865 with imprinted markings as well.
