From runestones and other illustrations, it is known that the Vikings wore simpler helmets, often peaked caps with a simple nose guard. The Viking Legacy Norman Nasal Medieval Helmet is just such a helmet. This helmet is constructed of 18 gauge polished mild steel and battle ready. A decorative wide steel band adorns the front with a decorative nose guard. There is a leather inner liner for a comfortable fit with an adjustable chin strap. Helmets just like this one were worn by famous Vikings like Erik the Red and his son Leif Erikson. The classic design allows for easy breathing and visibility making it ideal for re-enactors as well as for display purposes.
