Two nice Hopi Kachina Dolls. Native American made. Mid 20th century. Both are signed. The taller kachina is signed, but hard to read (may be \"Earl ...\"). The shorter kachina is signed: D. Pino\" and titled \"Happy Face\". Both are made of carved and painted cottonwood and have bases. The tall kachina is holding a bowl with flatbread and is wearing a sash that has beautiful painting. The smaller kachina is holding a clay pot and an implement of dance wand. The blankets they are wearing are very nicely carved. - 10 DAY sale - 10 DAY sale

Description TWO NATIVE AMERICAN HOPI PUEBLO KACHINA DOLLS
Two nice Hopi Kachina Dolls. Native American made - Mid 20th century.

Both are signed. The taller kachina is signed, but hard to read (may be \"Earl ...\"). The shorter kachina is signed: \"D. Pino\" and titled \"Happy Face\".

Both are made of carved and painted cottonwood and have bases. The tall kachina is holding a bowl with flatbread and is wearing a sash that has beautiful painting. The smaller kachina is holding a clay pot and an implement of dance wand. The blankets they are wearing are very nicely carved.

SIZE :  Height  (tallest, including base) -   9  1/2\"  /  Height  (shortest, including base) -   8  1/4\"

PROVENANCE :   Monterey, California collection

CONDITION :  Good condition as shown. The tall kachina has been glued back on the base and there are cracks at the front of the feet, now glued. No other damage or repairs. The shorter kachina has no damage or repairs. Both have an overall aged, darkened patina and light wear.

 
This piece will be a quality addition to any collection of Native American Art and will display beautifully in any Southwest, Ethnographic, Santa Fe - Taos Decor, Mid Century Modern, Eames Era, Art Deco, Modernist, Art Nouveau, Stickley - Van erp Era, Craftsman, or Arts and Crafts decor.
