Up for sale is Two rare hard to find WW2 WWII type 1 piton manufactured by “Preston”

One of the two is marked “US Preston 44.”

These were used by mountain troops such as the US 10th Mountain Division by driving them into rock cracks in order to establish anchors for slipping a snaplink through so that a rope could be attached while rock climbing.
