Two large saphiret crystals for a pair of earrings:

On offer are two faceted crystals made in early XX century. Each Saphiret crystal measures 1.5cm across. One side is a flat square table, the other one is a faceted pyramid.
It is thought that Saphirets were first made in Gablonz, Czechoslovakia in the Victorian era circa 1850s when real gold was added to a sapphire blue / sapphire coloured glass. This mixture resulted in a stone which changes colour through a range of brownish purple blues depending on the light.
The general condition is good, but some very small chips ( hardly noticeable) on corners. Please refer to the images!
The box is not included and for demonstration only.
