They are bound in3/4 deluxeleather.The foldoutisthere ofFort Donelson in Vol. 1 But No foldout in Vol. 2. Some overallheavy wear, scuffs, bumps, rubs to the boards, small tears, withspotting, discoloration, faded aging to the leather covers & splits to edgesspines. Nice marbles end papers and edges! (see pics) to judge condition for yourself.Both volumes could use a good restoration to look optimal on the shelf. Great opportunity to get your Civil war military library started at a low price!!

These memoirs of the Civil War in which Grant took part as a lieutenant and then general are among the most well-known accounts of soldier who fought for the Union. Ulysses S. Grant had associations with Pres. Abraham Lincoln and many other well-known generals of that time such as McClellan, Sheridan, Sherman, Butler, Hancock, etc. he also came face-to-face with Gen. Robert E. Lee at the signing of the surrender at Appomattox. Some battles & areas listed are Gettysburg, Antietam, Mannassas, Vicksburg, Fredericksburg, Spottsylvania, Chancellorsville, Shenandoah, Chickamauga, Chickahominy, Bull Run, & much more.
