This is a U.S. WW 2, M4 Bayonet for the M-1 Carbine Made by KINFOLK, and a TRUE B.M.Co. M8 Scabbard, this is a proper WW2 scabbard for a WW2 bayonet. KINFOLK produced 119,702 bayonets for the carbine. Kinfolk is the second rarest M4 bayonet The blade is perfect, no scabbard marks. It has not been in a scabbard. It still has some bright sharping lines on the blade. Parkerizing looks like bluing, no machine marks, a super finished blade. I have not seen a finer blade. The metal guard and pommel are in very fine condition, no rust or damage. Guard is marked K.I., U.S. M4. has correct letter \'\'M\'\' and number \'\'4\'\' for WW2 issue and Flaming bomb, has good stamps. Pommel is super, and has the number 2 and 4 and a letter B. Tapered pins and the parts work great. The leather grip is in fine condition, Has no plastic inserts, has no marks, solid, fine condition. Grip is a little darker than photo due to flash.

The scabbard is an M8, 1st variation, in fine condition, marked U.S.M8, B.M Co. made by Beckworth Co. with no metal hanger. A true M8 , metal is marked B 1/4 N, a good very early stamp, my best guess, made between July 1943 and April1944. Webbing is very sound, no damage, no wear on back, metal parts are all in good condition. Plastic is in fine condition no damage, marked VP 2. This is the earliest number I have seen on a plastic scabbard. I believe it may have been repainted ?, paint is very good. This is a very nice scabbard. The bayonet is nearly 70 years old, super hard to find in this condition. A collection is not complete without one.
