This listing is for a lovely sterling silver toothbrush holder by Unger Bros. It dates to the turn of the 19th century, when Art Nouveau design was at its peak. Made by famous Unger Bros. who manufactured out of Newark New Jersey in the late 1800\'s into the early 1900s. This intricate toothbrush holder is a fine example of their unending attention to quality and detail and their ability to elevate everyday objects to an artistic level.

It has a filigree repousee body in swirls. One side has what appears to be a small flower near the center. Designed to cover the bristle ends of a toothbrush, one end has a spring opening where you insert the toothbrush. It is in excellent condition, works just fine. Nice and tight. The filigree body allows your toothbrush to dry. The cap end has a wonderful ornate monogram. They don\'t make them like this anymore. Please see the detail in the photo. I believe it is \"MWB.\"

Every piece made by Unger Bros bears their stamp \"Sterling Fine 925\" in a circle surrounding a B over U. You will find their hallmark on the outside of the spring end of this piece as shown in the photo. Please note: Any pink reflection in the photos is my camera, not the toothbrush holder. I have captured each side for you.

The condition of this wonderful piece is excellent. There is some slight (very slight!) uneveness on the monogram end cap. This is very common in these pieces. Also, some very minor out-of-square in the body on two sides. Please see the pics. Actually, these imperfections are commensurate with age and use. This is the most perfect specimen I have ever found. I have been collecting these for awhile.

You can find a similar specimen on Ruby Lane for well over $400. Enjoy this unusual and hard to find holder at a bargain price! Beautiful and practical at the same time.
