Superb and Mega Size Georgian Sterling Silver and Gilt [Gold washed interior] Vinaigrette With Beautiful and Rare Filigree Grill by one of The Most Famous Georgian Silver Vinaigrette Makers,Samuel Pemberton ,Birmingham 1802.

This top quality vinaigrette is a true Georgian antique & 211 years old but still in nice condition and would shine in any vinaigrette/silver collection.A beautiful antique vinaigrette which would be a decent addition to any silver collection.
The grill is very unusual with a highly decorative filigree pattern which is still completely intact after 211 years!
It is very large and heavy and was made from outstanding gauge of sterling silver [23 grams].
This highly collectible Georgian silver masterpiece has been offered with what so of vinaigrette:silver vinaigrette is a small receptacle to contain scented vinegar used by ladies to ward off faintness. The earliest-known examples in separate form dates from 1492. Such pieces were popular from the mid 18th century, They were made in innumerable forms and styles (such as circular, oval, polygonal, heart-shaped or shell-shaped, and in fantasy forms, such as a shoe, book, watch-case, purse, acorn...) in silver, gold or porcelain, with a pierced metal grille under the stopper or the securely hinged lid to cover a sponge saturated with a scented substance.

Maker: SP.Samuel Pembertonwho was registered in Birmingham between 1790 & 1819 and is most famous for making top quality silver Vinaigrette and Snuff Box.

This eye catching decoration is making a beautiful frame for a central large panel on its lid which was initialised in some stage in the past.
The hinged grill is very unusual and decorative which in combination with the gold washed interior have presented a stylish masterpiece.
It is very large and was made from outstanding gaugeof sterling silver [23 grams].
It has a top quality and is in nice condition after 211 years with only couple of pin size dents that even hardly can be seen in close
inspection and just mentioned for accuracy.
There are No Split/Hole/Repair/Soldering what so ever.
A truly Georgian masterpiece in a very nice condition.
Hinges are in good order and both grill and lid close nicely and despite its fragile nature is still completely intact after 211 years which a very rare finding.
Gilt [Gold washed interior] shows some signs of aging as you can see in pictures.
