Unusual Early 1900s Knights Templar Screw-back Lapel Pin - Sterling, Enamel:
This item is an early 1900s screw-back Masonic Knights Templar lapel pin in gilt sterling silver and red enamel (appearing orange in the photo). The very three-dimensional design includes a Maltese Cross in red enamel, in the center of which is a crown. The reverse does not have a mark for metal content or manufacturer, but the 'button' is marked STERLING. The pin has a threaded post on the back, with a screw-on 'button' (approximately 12 mm in diameter). The design portion of this item measures approximately 10 mm (3/8") in width and height.
This item is in very good condition, with relatively light signs of handling and (mostly on the 'button') some loss of the gilt surface. The design portion remains bright, and the enamel appears to be in good condition. The 'button' threads onto the post easily and securely.
The illustration in this listingis a photo of the actual item being offered for sale and serve as part of the description. NOTE: This pin is much brighter than is evident in the photo.
