Us 1776 Continental Currency One Shilling Delaware 1776 Fine+ For Sale
This is an Original American Revolution eranote ("Continental Currency")from Delaware. Denomination: "ONE SHILLING". Dated "the First Day of Jan. 1776". Size: approx. 2 3/4"X 3 1/4". Color: Heavy tan/brown paper, w/Black over-printing. Hand-signed & numbered in brown ink. Note is in Nice Condition overall, with aheavy horizontal "fold-line" at center + light wear, etc; the four outer corners have some darker staining (due, it appears, to someone having taped the note to a page some time in the past); otherwise, o.k. Note grades Fine+ or slightly better. Front side has a Nice decorative border surrounding a statement of release, with a Logo representing--I presume--the Colony of Delaware; while the back/reverse side has a large, rectangular design at center showing a Sheaf of Wheat + the words "ONE SHILLING" at the top + "To Counterfeit is Death" at the bottom.
