AAF mechanics of WW2 were issued the A-1knit woolsweater for wear out on the cold, damp English airfields to help \"keep \'em flying\". This US Army AAF WW2 A-1 KNIT WOOL MECHANIC\'S SWEATER is in very good condition, with a small spot of mothing at the interior back right collar and the back left waistband, a small \"pull\" in the material at the upper right sleeve, the middle right side, and the middle front, some scattered whitish spot fading running vertically along the right front,two spots of dark soiling at the upper right back,a spot of brownish soiling at the left back, missing the nomenclature tag from the inside neck, and with some light overall age wear evident (most pictured). Otherwise, the sweater is in fine shape, with no other damage to the tough brownish OD knit wool construction. Measurements:There is no size marked on the sweater, but it measures 18.75\" from underarm to underarm across the chest, 17 7/8\" from shoulder to shoulder across the back, 26.75\" from the top of the neck to the bottom of the waistband down the back, and with a 22.5\" sleeve from the shoulder to the end of the cuff.
