US Army troops and US Marines \"over there\" in WW1 were issued the classic M-1907 suspenders to more evenly distribute the weight of the combat load over the shoulders. In his excellent book \"U.S. Martial Web Belts and Bandoliers: 1903-1981\", author R. Stephen Dorsey relates that Russell M-1907 suspenders are \"quite scarce\". This pair of US Army USMC Marine WW1 RUSSELL M-1907 KHAKI FIELD COMBAT SUSPENDERS are in very good condition, with two squares of period applied brownish green paint covering old BOS markings at the interior left back, a bit of brownish and hardened whitish spot soiling at the lower right front, some scattered greenish soiling to the lower attachment straps, and with some scattered age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the suspenders are in fine shape, with absolutely no rips, holes, tears, or other damage to the tough \"fine weave\" khaki canvas construction. Most interestingly, they boast fully intact darkened brass hardware throughout, and are very lightly stamped with the classic elliptical \"RUSSELL\" maker\'s logo at one lower middle attachment strap.
