This is a orig. Tintype of Sargent Thomas Braden of the 63rd SNY (State of New York which is one of the 5 units of the Irish Brigade) who was Killed in action on 13th of Dec. 1862 at the Battle of Fredericksburg. He is a pictured in a 1/6 plate tintype in a wooden paper wrapped casethat has a broken tape hinge (normal and can be repaired ). Written behind the tintype in the case is his name and unit in old ink(pictured). In the picture you will see up close a Irish harp on the kepi(close up pictured) also and he\'s also wearing sergeants stripes. This has been in my collection for years and years on proud display for the Irish brigade part of my collection. now it can be apart of yours.

The Irishbrigade suffered its most severe casualties in December at theBattle of Fredericksburg, Va. where its fighting force was reduced from over 1600 to 256. The brigade was involved in the northern battleground at Fredericksburg where they assaulted the sunken road in front of Marye\'s Heights. Coincidentally, one of the Confederate regiments manning the sunken road defenses was a predominantly Irish Regiment commanded by Brigadier General (Irishbrother against brother some from the same family )
